The Battlefield 6 open beta, launched August 7, 2025, has attracted over 521,000+ concurrent Steam players and also faces challenges with cheaters. EA’s SPEAR Anti-Cheat Team on their forum addressed concerns about cheating and detailed efforts to ensure fair play and limitations of their anti-cheat measures.

Javelin, EA’s kernel-level anti-cheat system from Battlefield 2042, has been adapted for Battlefield 6. EA maintains that Secure Boot, paired with the Javelin anti-cheat system, supports a fair experience.

Since the beta’s early access launch, Javelin has blocked 330,000 attempts to cheat or tamper with anti-cheat controls, per EA’s update. The system, backed by engineers and analysts, aims to counter cheating tactics like wallhacks and aimbots.

Notably, players have submitted 44,000 reports of potential cheaters on the beta’s first day and 60,000 more the next, aiding EA’s efforts.

These reports, combined with Javelin’s detection and the Battlefield Positive Play team’s oversight, have driven bans and detection improvements.

The Anti-Cheat Team urged players to report cheaters via in-game profile score screens, noting that feedback helps identify cheat communities and refine measures.

Secure Boot, required for Battlefield 6 on PC, verifies trusted software during the Windows boot process to block cheats like kernel-level rootkits, memory manipulation, and hardware ID spoofing.

As per the EA, the Javelin Anticheat system has blocked over 33 million cheat attempts across 2.2 billion PC gaming sessions since launch, as of the April 2025 update. It’s now active in 14 EA titles, including Battlefield, Madden, and EA SPORTS FC franchises.

The beta’s success, with record-breaking player counts, underscores the franchise’s enduring appeal, but the presence of cheaters highlights the ongoing arms race in anti-cheat technology.
