Smilegate Entertainment, creator of the Crossfire series, has revealed Crossfire Rainbow, a new entry in the franchise set to launch on PC, and mobile platforms, including iOS and Android.

Unlike the tactical shooter roots of its predecessors, Crossfire Rainbow title ventures into horror, blending first-person shooting with supernatural elements.

A gameplay trailer offers a glimpse into the experience, showcasing cinematics and combat sequences developed on Unreal Engine 5.

The trailer, focusing on the PC version, presents a setting where players navigate a villa overtaken by an eerie force. Gameplay footage highlights a player character encountering a humanoid silhouette in a hallway, interrupted by a falling painting.

Combat involves weapons like a pistol, shotgun, and assault rifle. Players can craft items, such as makeshift suppressors for stealth or Molotov cocktails for tougher enemies, indicating a system balancing action and survival.

Developed by Linlangtianshang Studio under Smilegate’s license, with Tencent Games handling publishing, Crossfire: Rainbow introduces a “Rainbow Erosion Area” where reality distorts, and enemies may include a player’s own reflection.

The game combines player-versus-player and player-versus-environment elements, labelled as PVPVE, suggesting battles against both human opponents and supernatural threats.

No release date or store listings have surfaced, and a Western launch remains unannounced. The official website, hosted by Tencent, provides limited information.

Crossfire: Rainbow aims to redefine the franchise, merging its shooting heritage with a horror framework. Keep visiting us for further updates on its scope and availability.
