Blizzard Entertainment in Overwatch 2 Season 10, starting April 16, has introduced exciting updates, including a new hero, game mode, and revamped reward system.

Newest hero: Venture

Overwatch enthusiasts will now have the chance to play as Venture, the newest damage hero. Venture, an intrepid archaeologist armed with a massive drill and seismic abilities, brings a fresh dynamic to the battlefield, offering players versatile gameplay options to outwit their adversaries and secure victory.

Venture’s abilities

Whether you’re navigating hidden subterranean passages or engaging in intense close-quarter combat, Venture offers versatile gameplay. Players, as a Venture, wield the Smart Excavator’s power, releasing unstable seismic energy that explodes for burst damage.

Utilizing the Burrow ability, players can vanish underground, becoming invulnerable while building momentum for a calculated ambush upon resurfacing. Then use Drill Dash to dash forward to make some space as you knock opponents back. Venture can release massive shockwaves with their Tectonic Shock Ultimate to keep foes clear of your path.

Unlock all past, present, and future heroes

In an unconventional move, Overwatch 2 Season 10 announces that starting with the introduction of Venture, all heroes—past, present, and future—will be unlocked immediately for players who have completed their new player experience.

This decision aims to ensure that every player can access the full spectrum of hero choices from the outset, promising a more inclusive and diverse gameplay experience.

Moreover, following Venture’s successful field experience during their Hero Trial, significant adjustments have been made to their kit. These enhancements, fueled by Venture’s newfound expertise, promise to elevate their effectiveness on the battlefield.

Overwatch 2 developers Blizzard Entertainment revealed their decision to fast-track Venture’s entry into Competitive play. With Season 10, players can immediately integrate Venture into the competitive arena, a move signalling the team’s confidence in Venture’s readiness and potential impact.

Limited-time event: Mirrorwatch

Overwatch 2 Season 10 has the Mirrorwatch event, which is set in a reversed reality and will run for a limited time from April 23 to May 13. In this alternate universe, heroes can switch sides, i.e. turn villains into champions and vice versa.

Players will be able to swap alignments and experiment with reimagined Heroes and abilities like Strike Commander Doomfist’s Power Block shield, Vengeance Mercy’s Soul Burn detonation, and Agent Colomar Sombra’s Anti-Virus Ultimate. Twist reality further, taking the fight into a redesigned Watchpoint Gibraltar, where Talon has taken over.

New Ways to Earn and Unlock Rewards

In Overwatch 2 Season 10, the developer has heard players’ feedback and is rolling out some changes to make earning rewards easier and more satisfying than before.

Coins are coming out of Weekly Challenges and going into the Battle Pass, making them easier to earn as you play.

But wait, there’s more! Overwatch 2 Season 10 is pumping up the number of Coins players can earn each season, with up to 600 Overwatch Coins now available through the Battle Pass.

Choose your Mythic Path

Overwatch 2 Season 10 features Mythic Prisms which will allow players to pick the Mythic hero skin of their choice.  They will be able to collect Mythic Prisms by upgrading to the Premium Battle Pass.

The Mythic Prisms collected can be used to unlock and upgrade Mythic hero skins and upgrade them with unlockable customizations. Once you conquer the Premium Battle Pass, you will have 80 Prisms, which is enough to fully unlock one complete Mythic skin.

The newest Mythic hero skin this season is – Vengeance Mercy. Taking up the name “Vengeance,” Dr. Angela Ziegler leads Talon in a fight for a better world, where she wields full control over life and death.

Mythic Vengeance Mercy will have three new color combinations and masks available, as well as two hair options and Caduceus Staff variations to unlock.

New game mode: Clash

Launching as a limited-time trial at the start of Overwatch 2 Season 10, Clash game mode is an intense tug-of-war that pits teams against each other in a race to capture points along a linear path.

With five capture points strategically placed on a mirrored map, teams must deftly maneuver to capture and defend points to clinch victory.

Dynamic spawns and streamlined map routes expedite your return to the fight, maximizing time spent in the heat of battle.

The Clash trial will allow players to explore Hanaoka, a brand-new map spanning an area within the Hanamura district, offering fresh battlegrounds to conquer with a familiar feel. The Clash trial is available in the Arcade, from April 16 to April 29.
