Pearl Abyss says it is preparing a patch for Crimson Desert after player complaints about the game’s controls.

In a notice posted after launch, the studio said it has been listening to feedback and is aware that many players have experienced “discomfort” with the current control setup. The developer said a patch is now being prepared to address those issues.

The control scheme has been one of the main complaints surrounding Crimson Desert. Players have pointed to several unusual input choices, including attack commands that require pressing a shoulder button and the trigger at the same time.

Pearl Abyss also apologised for the experience of keyboard-and-mouse players. In its statement, the company said it had not provided a satisfactory gameplay experience for PC users and that it is working to improve that as quickly as possible.

Reports from players and coverage from gaming outlets have also highlighted odd keyboard controls. One example is the sprint being assigned to the Shift key, reportedly requiring repeated tapping to move faster.

For now, Pearl Abyss has confirmed only that a control-related patch is in development. The studio has not provided a timeline for when the update will arrive or the exact changes it will include.
